I’m just an aging girl who is reconnecting with and rekindling a childhood love of all things music. Although I lapsed for many years in playing the instruments that I started with as a child, including but not limited to: guitar, drums, bass guitar, keyboard, and vocals. At some point in time I transitioned from an active to a passive listening role, and that was the extent of my interaction with music.
Recently I found some of my old instruments hiding in my parents garage. My curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to dust them off and set them up in my new home. I could not believe how quickly I was able to pick them up again. I spent hours upon hours scouring the Internet for lessons, videos, and forum posts relating to creating music. After a few weeks like this, I decided that I needed to read dedicate part of my life to this passion that had once lit me out as a teenager.
I don’t know if anyone will ever read this, but if you are I love you. Especially considering the fact that you care enough to click on this silly about me section of the blog. As you can probably tell I’m not a professional writer, and although I am more practiced at some of my instruments I am not an expert they are either. Perhaps sometime soon I will work up the courage to play some of the clips of me practicing. I think I will probably stick with the instruments are more fluent in, such as drums or guitar. I hope that it that point I will have a supportive, loving audience, which will help me overcome my stage fright. If not, I might just run back into the shadows, put my instruments back in the garage, and swear off music for the rest of my life.
